Post ImpressionismVan Gogh was one of the pioneers of the Post Impressionism art movement. Post Impressionists were well known for using vibrant and unnatural colors, thick globs of paint, geometric forms, and distorting their subject matter in paintings. Rather than just trying to paint exactly what they see, they were more concerned with sharing their impression of what they see and using color to bring more emotion and feeling into the subjects they were painting.
See the differences and similarities between the Impressionist and the POST-Impressionist art movements! Observe the paintings side-by-side and use the Venn diagram as a reference to DESCRIBE the differences and similarities you see between them. Choose at least one of the side-by-side images to type out the differences and similarities between the paintings. |
